Gauge maintenance
1. Do not store the working surfaces of the two gauges together (such as the plug gauge and the ring gauge), otherwise the two working surfaces will be glued to each other, and unnecessary damage will be caused when the external force is applied. 2. After the gauge is used, wipe it with clean cotton yarn or soft cloth, put it in a special wooden box, and then store it in the tool cabinet; the sheet gauge can also be hung in the tool cabinet. If the weather is humid or when it can be used after a period of time, wipe it off and apply a layer of acid-free petroleum jelly or anti-rust oil. The place where the gauge is stored must be dry. 3. The gauge should be inspected regularly, and the general inspection cycle is 6-12 months. 4. Regardless of whether it is a gauge that is frequently used or a gauge that is not frequently used, regular external inspections must be carried out to see if there is any damage, rust or deformation. If you find that the gauge begins to rust, you should put it in gasoline and soak it for a period of time, then take it out and wipe it clean carefully, and apply anti-rust oil. 5. During use, the gauge should be placed in a proper place, such as the table of the tool cabinet or the wooden backing plate of the fixed part of the machine tool. Do not put it on the machine tool holder or machine tool rail to avoid damage.
